Therapeutic Foster Care Licensing Coordinator

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITY: To develop, implement, maintain and expand a program of professional therapeutic foster care (TFC) for children with emotional and/or behavioral problems whose needs can best be met in a traditional family setting.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE LICENSING COORDINATOR:
1. Coordinate, implement, and oversee TFC family licensure procedures and requirements:
o Assist TFC parents to prepare for licensure and licensure agent visits.
o Support and encourage families during licensing process.
o Monitor and maintain current TFC family compliance and status with licensure requirements.
o Complete initial and mid-term licensing and amendments to licenses for families.
o Conduct re-licensing studies and documentation.
o Conduct annual site visits.
2. Provide and/or coordinate education and training for professional TFC families:
o Ensure families understand responsibilities and requirements of TFC parenting.
o Coordinate PS-MAPP (Partnering for Safety and Performance, Model Approach to Partnership) and other required training for potential foster families.
3. Evaluate potential TFC parents for appropriateness of their participation in the program:
o Gather and document relevant data for assessment of families.
o Provide family feedback regarding competency or needs.
o Provide resources and assist families to resolve needs and to increase ability to foster successfully.
4. Interact and consult with licensure and professional care providers involved with the child to ensure a successful placement:
o Work in conjunction with DES/DCS to coordinate the matching process of the qualified foster parent that can best meet the needs of the child.
o Work collaboratively with the child-family team and the development and implementation of the service plan.
5. Provide clinical and consultative services to family and child to promote adjustment and on-going stability of the placement:
o Provide/coordinate 24 hour supervision and crisis intervention and resolution.
o Provide regular telephone and home visit contacts to families.
o Coordinate respite services for families and monitor families' use of respite.
o Enlist and coordinate the services needed by child and family to ensure the success of the placement.
o Participate in CFT meetings.
6. Provide administrative support:
o Complete payroll timesheets for all TFC families bi-weekly.
o Maintain client and parent charts and conduct file audits monthly.
o Attend weekly staff meetings.
o Participate in the recruitment process of TFC families.
7. Additional duties determined by supervisor as needed.
REQUIREMENTS:
1. Posses a high school diploma or high school equivalency diploma; Bachelor's Degree
preferred.
2. Must have a minimum of 1 year experience with licensing foster families.
3. Experience working with children with emotional and behavioral problems a plus.
4. Must be at least 21 years of age.
5. Ability to obtain a fingerprint clearance card, or in current possession.
6. Valid Arizona Driver's License.
7. Must pass a TB test and medical exam capable of performing the essential functions of this job.
8. Individual judgment, discretion, and decision making skills.
9. Ability to work independently as well as with others.
10. Confidentiality and professionalism are essential.
11. Some travel required.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
